The International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) has opened a public consultation on proposed revisions to the Core Principles for Effective Deposit Insurance Systems, citing significant developments and structural changes in banking since the Core Principles were last revised in 2014. IADI invited members and other stakeholders to submit feedback by 14 July 2025. The consultation will be supported by Core Principles review sessions for the Latin America Regional Committee on 23 June 2025 and the Europe Regional Committee on 24 June 2025, alongside a global stakeholders webinar on 30 June 2025 from 13:00 to 14:30 CEST, with registration details to follow. Separately, IADI announced two new member organisations, the Deposit Guarantee Fund in Central Africa (FOGADAC) and Costa Rica’s Fondo de Garantía de Depósitos (FGD), and highlighted community updates including a leadership change at the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (Dr JaeHoon Yoo designated as chair), Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation’s first 2025 edition of “Global Updates”, and CDIC (Chinese Taipei)’s 2024 annual report covering initiatives such as an AI-enabled risk monitoring system and preparations for risk-based premium rate reform.
