Moldova's National Commission for Financial Markets held a two-day training workshop in Chisinau for its specialists on cryptoasset markets and the blockchain ecosystem, focused on regulatory, risk and supervisory issues. Supported by the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, the workshop was presented as part of the regulator's effort to strengthen institutional expertise as Moldova aligns its national framework with the European Union Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation. The sessions, led by OSCE experts Michal Gromek and Karol Kociel, combined practical exercises with theory on blockchain and cryptoasset fundamentals, cryptoasset classification, decentralized finance and emerging financial crime trends. The agenda also covered macroeconomic risks linked to cryptoassets, implications for financial stability, investor protection and cybersecurity, along with the regulation of cryptoasset issuers and cryptoasset service providers and mechanisms to prevent and combat market-related fraud.
