The Central Bank of Egypt announced that Governor Hassan Abdalla met with International Monetary Fund Deputy Managing Director Nigel Clarke on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank Group Spring Meetings in Washington, D.C., to strengthen bilateral cooperation and assess developments in Egypt’s macroeconomic indicators in the context of the IMF-supported economic reform programme. The meeting included Egypt’s Minister of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk, and IMF Executive Director Mohamed Maait, alongside Central Bank of Egypt Deputy Governor Rami Aboulnaga and other officials. Clarke acknowledged Egypt’s management of economic challenges amid external shocks and commended the government’s commitment to implementing reforms.
