The Hong Kong Monetary Authority organised a seminar on corporate treasury and tokenisation aimed at corporate treasurers and related stakeholders, marking its first event in recent years focused specifically on that audience. The seminar was used to showcase recent use cases for tokenisation in corporate treasury operations and to encourage industry participation in initiatives such as Project Ensemble and the use of HKMA support measures for tokenised bond issuance. More than 150 participants attended, including representatives from about 50 corporates, 30 financial institutions and various treasury associations. Panel discussions focused on Project Ensemble use cases for real-time treasury management and on the use of tokenisation in bond issuance and trade finance. The HKMA said it will follow up with corporate treasury centres that expressed interest in tokenisation to explore future collaboration. In line with the Government's Action Plan to Promote the Development of CTCs in Hong Kong announced on 9 June, it will also engage corporate treasury centres on other topics of interest to promote use of Hong Kong's financial platform and gather market feedback.
