The Central Bank of Iraq, through the director of its Basra branch, opened a financial inclusion exhibition in Dhi Qar aimed at expanding access to banking services across different segments of society. The event was presented as a way to introduce the public to the services and products offered by government and private banks and to strengthen trust between citizens and financial institutions. Representatives of the Iraqi Private Banks League, the Association of Islamic Banks, and Rafidain Bank in the southern region attended alongside staff from the Basra branch. This year’s activities focused on the concept of financial health as a tool for increasing banking awareness and financial literacy, with banks and electronic payment companies participating. In a meeting with participants, the branch director reviewed challenges and proposals and indicated that the Central Bank would work to address operational obstacles affecting the sector.
