The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) gathered stakeholder views on proposed amendments to the Insurance Act, Chapter 394, 2023 edition, at a meeting in Unguja, Zanzibar, on October 19, 2026. Representatives of public and private institutions and insurers operating in Zanzibar discussed provisions requiring improvement and proposed priorities for the amendments. The review seeks to strengthen insurance supervision and address challenges facing stakeholders and the public. Feedback collection will continue in other parts of Tanzania before the amendment process is completed.
