South Korea's Ministry of Economy and Finance announced that Second Vice Minister Heo Jang has departed for Paris to attend the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Ministerial Council Meeting on June 3 and 4. South Korea will serve as a vice-chair country for the meeting, and Heo is scheduled to deliver a keynote address at the opening session and chair the session on the role of the state in regulation and fiscal matters. The meeting at OECD headquarters will focus on the right industrial policy for open markets, growth and prosperity across six sessions. Expected discussion topics include the state's role in regulation and fiscal matters, industrial policy for digital and new technologies, and industrial policy and investment. On the sidelines, Heo plans bilateral meetings with the OECD chief economist and senior officials from the French finance ministry and French central bank to discuss global and South Korean economic trends and prospects and ways to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.
