The Brazil Securities Commission has published its 2026-2028 Open Data Plan, setting the authority’s agenda for opening, maintaining, monitoring and promoting the use of its data from July 2026 to June 2028. The plan prioritizes eight new datasets linked to the Brazilian capital markets and provides for a public application programming interface, or API, on the CVM Open Data Portal to broaden access and reuse of the authority’s information. The new datasets will be released in phases through June 2028. The first wave, due by December 2026, covers the General Registry of Regulated Entities, public distribution offerings conducted through crowdfunding platforms, and metadata on administrative proceedings. Later releases include FIAGRO annual reports and registration data for securitization companies by June 2027, monthly and semiannual reports on nonresident investors by December 2027, and the reference form for portfolio managers by June 2028. CVM currently maintains 54 open datasets covering regulated participants, listed companies, investment funds, public offerings and sanctioning proceedings. The plan was informed in part by a public consultation conducted between November and December 2025. CVM said further information on the planned public API will be released later.
