The Reserve Bank of India has introduced a half-yearly return through the Centralised Information Management System portal for relief measures provided in areas affected by natural calamities. The requirement applies to regulated entities including scheduled commercial banks, cooperative banks, local area banks, non-banking financial companies and all-India financial institutions, aligning reporting with the revised stressed asset resolution framework effective July 1, 2026. Returns must be submitted in the revised format within 30 days after each half-year, by October 30 for the period ending September 30 and April 30 for the period ending March 31. Entities must ensure submissions are accurate, complete and validated, supported by appropriate collection, verification and consolidation processes. The previous monthly return for scheduled commercial banks, including small finance banks but excluding regional rural banks, was discontinued effective July 1, 2026.
