The Superintendency of Banks of Panama issued a resolution granting an International Banking Licence to Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria Colombia S.A., BBVA Colombia S.A., after verifying compliance with all requirements under applicable rules, formally admitting the bank to Panama’s International Banking Centre. The authorisation allows BBVA Colombia S.A. to operate through an office established in Panama and to conduct transactions that are perfected, consummated or take effect abroad, along with other activities previously authorised by the supervisor. The release notes that BBVA Colombia S.A. is part of the global BBVA group, whose holding company is BBVA S.A. of Spain, with operations in 25 countries.
