The Intergovernmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa has issued an expression of interest to recruit an individual consultant as IT Assistant for its Information Centre in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The full-time assignment is set for one year, with possible renewal subject to funding and satisfactory performance, and carries remuneration of USD 12000 per year. The role is intended to provide day-to-day user support, maintain computer equipment and help ensure the security, connectivity and continuity of the centre’s IT services. The position covers first-level support for hardware and software incidents, installation and updating of workstations and operating systems, local network support, and implementation of basic cybersecurity measures such as antivirus protection, backups, password management and security updates. The assistant will also support meetings, workshops, videoconferences and computer-based training activities, act as a technical link with GIABA headquarters on major IT issues, maintain equipment inventories, prepare monthly IT activity reports and handle refurbishment of obsolete equipment for auction. Candidates must have at least a university degree in computer science, information technology or a similar field, at least two years of relevant experience, and working knowledge of Windows, Linux, office tools, network management software and computer security protocols. GIABA said candidates will be scored on qualifications and general experience, mission-specific experience and proficiency in ECOWAS official languages, with a minimum passing score of 70 out of 100 and interviews for the top three shortlisted applicants.
