South Africa's National Treasury, together with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) and the National Consumer Financial Education Committee (NCFEC), has invited organisations and individuals to take part in Money Smart Week South Africa (MSWSA) 2025, a national financial literacy campaign running from 25 to 31 August 2025 under the theme "Smart Money: Financial Foundations for a Resilient Future". Participation is open to stakeholders including academic institutions, employers, government departments, regulatory bodies, financial service providers, Non-Governmental Organisations, Public Benefit Organisations, community-based groups and individuals. Participants are encouraged to plan and host their own financial education initiatives during the week, including face-to-face workshops and presentations, community activations and exhibitions, webinars and digital learning content, and broadcast and social media campaigns. The organisers positioned the 2025 campaign as building on MSWSA 2024, which involved 75 partner organisations. A pre-campaign information session is scheduled for 25 June 2025, with further details to be communicated.
