The National Bank of Moldova, with support from the European Union Delegation in Moldova, has launched three informational videos setting out the practical benefits of the country’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), which Moldova has been operationally part of since 6 October 2025. The materials describe SEPA as a payments infrastructure covering 41 European countries that enables faster and more efficient cross-border euro payments by reducing administrative frictions and transfer costs. Using everyday scenarios for residents, the diaspora and entrepreneurs, the videos highlight lower remittance fees, transparent euro transactions without hidden charges and the ability to send money to Moldova from Europe under conditions comparable to domestic payments in the European Union, alongside business benefits such as access to European payment standards and reduced transaction costs that can support trade and investment.
