The U.S. House Committee on Financial Services announced that Chairman French Hill led a bipartisan House delegation to Peru for meetings with President Dina Boluarte and senior officials focused on strengthening bilateral ties, including expanding financial cooperation and joint efforts against transnational crime and illicit finance. The delegation met Central Reserve Bank of Peru Chairman Julio Velarde, Minister of Economy and Finance Raúl Pérez-Reyes, Prime Minister Eduardo Arana Ysa, Foreign Minister Elmer Schialer, and members of Peru’s Congress, including the newly elected President of the Peruvian Congress, Congressman José Jerí. Discussions also covered the role of investment in Peru, particularly in critical infrastructure, alongside shared democratic values, with the visiting lawmakers including Reps. Hill, Janelle Bynum, Warren Davidson, Troy Downing, and Tim Moore.
