The Central Bank of Ecuador reported that the Monthly Indicator of Economic Activity grew 2.2% year over year in June 2026. Services, trade, manufacturing and construction drove the expansion, offsetting contractions in oil and mining and in agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishing. Services grew 2.6% and contributed 1.2 percentage points to overall growth, supported partly by increased electricity generation and financial-sector lending. Trade expanded 4%, manufacturing 4.2% and construction 3.9%, while oil and mining contracted 3.4% and agriculture-related activity fell 1.5%. Non-oil activity rose 2.3%, and the economy accumulated growth of 2% in the first half of 2026 compared with the same period of 2025.
