The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission carried out an on-site inspection of a large factory and warehouse fire in Lat Krabang, Bangkok, to support affected insured parties and speed up insurance claim handling. Checks via the Insurance Bureau System and its electronic major-loss reporting process confirmed that the affected sites had property risk insurance in place, and the Commission coordinated with insurers to begin loss surveys. The fire involved facilities operated by Siam House & Home Co., Ltd. and Hanphonix Enterprises Co., Ltd. on Chalong Krung Road in Lat Krabang District, with initial findings indicating no injuries or fatalities. Siam House & Home held one property risk policy with a sum insured of THB 203,500,000, while Hanphonix held two policies with a combined sum insured of THB 487,000,000. All policies were underwritten by Bangkok Insurance Public Company Limited (60%) with co-insurance from Muang Thai Insurance Public Company Limited (20%) and ERGO Insurance (Thailand) Public Company Limited (20%). The Commission has asked the three insurers to expedite the loss survey process to enable timely compensation for covered damage.
