The Republic of Serbia Securities Commission held a workshop on the European Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) and initiated work to analyse how Serbia’s Law on Digital Assets aligns with MiCA, as part of planned full alignment of domestic digital-asset legislation with the European Union acquis. The workshop was organised with support from the PLAC IV Project. Held on 27 March 2025, the workshop presented the results of a gap analysis identifying differences between Serbia’s current legal framework and MiCA, led by Croatian expert Sanja Vojak. Discussion focused on how the EU regulatory framework is applied in practice, particularly in Croatia, with participants concluding that Serbia is not lagging behind; Commission management and staff attended alongside the PLAC IV Project team leader and legal expert.
