The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) has formally opened the fourth year of its “OIC: Be Smart First Jobber” programme at Khon Kaen University, aimed at building insurance-based financial management and risk management skills for university students entering the workforce. The initiative, launched by OIC in 2022, is designed to strengthen participants’ knowledge, attitudes and behaviours for early-career life planning under the theme “Be Informed and Be Prepared with Insurance”. Year four is being held in Thailand’s northeast for the first time and includes career-path discussions with regulators and industry, a lecture on insurance across life stages, sessions with national and local speakers, a knowledge game with prizes exceeding THB 10,000, and a mini job fair with more than 25 companies and associations. OIC noted that the programme has previously run for three years across nine locations with more than 30,000 participants, alongside industry indicators including total investments of over THB 4.5 trillion and more than 500,000 insurance agent and broker licences.
