Egypt’s Prime Minister has issued a decision appointing Dr Ahmed Abdel Aziz as Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority. The appointment follows a presidential decree renewing Dr Mohamed Farid Saleh to act as chair of the authority for one year, at ministerial rank, from 7 August 2025, marking the start of his fourth term. Abdel Aziz will serve for the remaining term of the current board constituted under a 2022 prime-ministerial decision. He is currently an adviser to the authority’s chair and has more than 25 years of executive experience in the insurance sector, including as chief executive and managing director of Misr Life Insurance (2021 to June 2025) and previously as chair and managing director (2016 to 2021), as well as roles at Al Rajhi Takaful in Riyadh (head of life insurance from 2009 to 2012 and chief technical officer from 2012 to 2014).
