The UK Economic Secretary to the Treasury confirmed the reappointment of Marjorie Ngwenya as an external member of the Bank of England’s Prudential Regulation Committee (PRC). She will serve a further three-year term from 5 September 2025 to 4 September 2028. Ngwenya’s background includes serving as a past President of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and holding senior executive roles in South Africa, including Chief Strategist at Liberty Group and Chief Risk Officer for Old Mutual’s African operations. The release also notes she has not engaged in political activity in the last five years. The PRC is the Bank of England committee that takes the most important decisions for the Prudential Regulation Authority, which supervises banks, insurers and major investment firms.
