The Bermuda Monetary Authority has launched a week-long public education campaign for World Investor Week 2025, running 6–12 October, aimed at strengthening investor education and protection with a particular focus on online safety for retail investors. The campaign will publish daily “smart investor” habits and tips via the Authority’s website and social media channels. Key themes for 2025 cover technology and digital finance, artificial intelligence, and fraud and scam prevention, complemented by content on crypto assets and investing basics. Topics include risks from digital engagement practices such as copy trading and gamification, assessing “finfluencers”, using reputable and properly registered platforms, confirming AI-enabled communications through official regulated channels, and practical anti-scam measures such as verifying opportunities, resisting time pressure, avoiding phishing and using two-factor authentication; crypto content highlights checking whether platforms are authorised and recognising fraud red flags. World Investor Week is led by the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) and involves organisations from over 100 jurisdictions.
