Peru's Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds (SBS), together with the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima, inaugurated the Lima Ahorra fair as part of the tenth anniversary of Global Money Week in Peru, positioning it as an open-to-the-public forum for interactive financial education. The fair brings together 31 public entities, private sector participants and non-governmental organisations, offering educational games and activities on the importance of saving, responsible use of financial products and services, information on savings products available from participating entities, and financial education talks. The SBS framed the initiative within Global Money Week, a nationwide financial education campaign it leads in Peru and which is promoted by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, with this edition emphasising the theme “Let’s talk clearly about money” in the context of young people’s day-to-day money management and exposure to potential scams. Lima Ahorra is scheduled to run on 19 and 20 March from 11:00 to 17:00 at block 6 of Jirón Ucayali in central Lima.
