The Central Bank of Iraq has launched Financial Inclusion Week in the Kurdistan Region under the theme “Financial health… individuals’ path to sustainable and more stable financial inclusion”, positioning the events as part of its wider efforts to promote financial inclusion and raise financial and banking awareness. The programme is intended to strengthen financial literacy as a foundation for economic stability for individuals and society, with a particular focus on groups that make less use of formal financial services. Activities include workshops, exhibitions, direct awareness campaigns, and field visits aimed at spreading financial culture, supporting digital transformation, and expanding access to banking and financial services through branches of Iraqi private and Islamic banks and electronic payment institutions and companies across all provinces. The events are scheduled to run until 5 May 2026.
