The China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission convened and guided the China-Europe Insurance Innovation Forum, held as a parallel event to the Financial Street Forum, with Deputy Director Zhou Liang delivering opening remarks. The forum centred on cooperation between the insurance industry and the automotive sector under accelerating intelligent and green transitions, including new energy vehicles, intelligent driving, cross-industry collaboration, and green insurance. The programme covered leadership remarks, keynote speeches, roundtables and results releases, with participation from multiple government departments and regulators, domestic and international insurers, automotive companies, industry organisations, vehicle insurance rating bodies, and academic experts. Discussions addressed new energy vehicle insurance, technology insurance, international approaches to insurance-based vehicle model classification, and coordination between insurers and the automotive industry amid rising automation. The forum released outputs including a green insurance methodology, a used-car information service platform, and an expansion of the “Car insurance easy to insure” platform to fuel-powered commercial vehicles, and it concluded with the signing of a cooperation memorandum between the insurance and automotive industries. The regulator indicated it will continue guiding the sector to deepen China-Europe insurance exchanges and advance cross-industry cooperation.
