The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan held a working meeting with the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption to review implementation of Tajikistan’s State Anti-Corruption Strategy through 2030, with a focus on preventing and removing causes and conditions that can enable corruption-related offences. The internal audit function noted that the strategy was approved by Presidential Decree No. 222 of 3 August 2021 and that, as a sectoral body, the central bank develops and implements an internal action plan each year; the 2025 anti-corruption measures plan has been approved by the Board and is being implemented. Participants discussed practical prevention mechanisms and highlighted the need for ongoing awareness-raising, stronger legal culture, and an environment of intolerance toward corruption, with regional branches joining the meeting remotely.
