The Montenegro Capital Market Authority hosted a two-day technical workshop in Podgorica on 17–18 September, organised by the International Organization of Securities Commissions and the World Bank, focused on building national roadmaps for adopting international corporate sustainability reporting standards in growth and emerging markets. The programme supported representatives of capital market regulators from selected European developing jurisdictions in working through practical implementation questions, including the policy rationale for adoption, regulatory approaches, which entities would be in scope, what information would be required, where disclosures would be published, and how implementation would be phased. Sessions were structured around the Roadmap Development Tool published by the IFRS Foundation in March 2025 to support decisions on introducing International Sustainability Standards Board standards, with technical input from IOSCO and World Bank specialists and a presentation on Montenegro’s experience by a representative of the Montenegro Capital Market Authority. Online follow-up sessions are planned over the next three to six months to track progress on implementing the roadmaps developed by each jurisdiction.
