The United Arab Emirates National Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing and Financing of Illegal Organisations Committee reported on the UAE delegation’s participation as an observer in the Eurasian Group’s 42nd plenary meeting and an accompanying joint forum with the Middle East and North Africa Financial Action Task Force. The delegation presented national initiatives that use artificial intelligence and digital innovation to strengthen the detection and prevention of money laundering and terrorist financing. The forum, the first joint event between the two regional Financial Action Task Force-style bodies, brought together more than 200 participants to examine risk management amid technological change. Discussions covered digital threats, evolving regulatory approaches and public-private partnerships, while supporting cooperation between the Eurasian and Middle East and North Africa regions.
