The Central Bank of the UAE announced that Governor Khaled Mohamed Balama received an A-minus in Global Finance’s 2026 annual rating of central bank governors, placing him among the publication’s highest-rated governors globally. The assessment covers governors from about 100 countries and territories, as well as several regional monetary institutions. Global Finance bases its ratings on performance in areas including inflation control, economic growth, currency stability, interest rate management and decision-making independence. The publication is scheduled to release the full 2026 ratings in its October 2026 print and digital editions.
