The State Bank of Vietnam co-organised the financial education programme “Understand so as not to be deceived” in Toan Son commune, Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province, together with MUFG Bank Vietnam Limited, the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies and SHBFinance, to help local residents strengthen financial and information-security awareness and avoid increasingly sophisticated credit traps. The programme was framed as part of Vietnam’s National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2020–2025 and focused on practical warnings and examples of fraud affecting both urban and rural areas, including multi-level-marketing-style “investment” schemes, e-commerce delivery and trading-platform scams, loan-sharking, and phishing via emails or text messages impersonating authorities. Participants were urged to borrow only from state-licensed providers and avoid illegal lending, and the organisers distributed gifts to 100 poor households in Da Bac district.
