Bank of Indonesia has launched the 2025/2026 cycle of the Joint Movement for Consumer Protection (GEBER PK), framing consumer protection in digital transactions as a community empowerment agenda and a coordinated effort to expand education and literacy to counter growing digital fraud risks. The programme, themed One Vision, One Action, centres on three initiatives delivered through a national education campaign: Protect Your Data, Protect Your Funds to raise awareness of digital scams and personal data theft; the creation of CERDAS PeKA (Care, Recognise, Report) centres at campuses to support continuous financial education; and the Duta PeKA programme to mobilise student ambassadors to promote safer digital consumer behaviour across regions. Bank of Indonesia highlighted the increasing complexity of fraud and scam threats, including use of artificial intelligence, deepfakes and social engineering, while the Indonesia Financial Services Authority (OJK) pointed to continued work on market conduct monitoring, complaint handling and scaling up financial education. GEBER PK is structured as a multi-agency and industry collaboration involving Bank of Indonesia, OJK, multiple ministries and public bodies including the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs and the National Consumer Protection Board, alongside industry associations and academia; the initiative has operated since April 2024 and is now being rolled out under its 2025/2026 programme.
