The Brazilian Pension Funds Authority (PREVIC) appointed actuary Raquel Lamb Lautert as coordinator-general for Projects and International Relations, with a mandate to restart its sector-development agenda for closed supplementary pensions and deepen engagement with international organisations. She took office on 9 October. An immediate priority is resuming the work of the Commission for the Development of Closed Supplementary Pensions (COFOM), a quadripartite body bringing together the federal government, closed supplementary pension entities (EFPC), participants and beneficiaries, and sponsoring employers and instituting entities. The three COFOM subcommittees will submit reports with their proposals to PREVIC, which will then compile a final commission report and set an action agenda, including analysis of costs and any potential regulatory impacts for the sector. The output is intended to structure solutions and strategies to strengthen and grow the pension fund segment across a short-, medium- and long-term implementation timetable.
