The Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market of the Republic of Kazakhstan has suspended for three months the licence of Batys kapital Microfinance Organization LLP to conduct microfinance activities, under an order issued by its Uralsk regional department. The suspension is based on breaches of prudential norms and or other mandatory norms and limits. While the licence is suspended, the microfinance organization is prohibited from concluding new microcredit agreements, extending the term of existing microcredit contracts, or amending contracts in a way that increases the obligations and liabilities of either the firm or borrowers. The firm remains required to perform its obligations under previously concluded microcredit agreements, and clients remain liable for non-performance in accordance with their contract terms.
