Central Bank of Malta Governor Alexander Demarco participated in informal Economic and Financial Affairs Council meetings in Dublin on Sept. 17 and 18, where EU central bank governors and finance ministers discussed new financing opportunities, sustainable funding for the green transition and ways for European financial markets to support emerging companies. The discussions covered access to finance for competitive European businesses and the strengthening of Europe’s financial ecosystem. Demarco also attended a Central Bank of Ireland conference examining the opportunities and challenges arising from technological innovation in financial services, including implications for trust and financial system resilience.
