The Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia joined five other regulators to organise the III International Consumer Protection Week, combining a multi-agency panel discussion with public Q&A sessions focused on how consumers can protect their rights and seek redress. The programme, co-hosted with the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), the National Bank, the Communications Commission and the National Food Agency, reviewed agencies’ results, challenges and enforcement mechanisms. It also prioritised ensuring equal access to information for persons with disabilities, ethnic minorities and citizens living in the regions. Customer information meetings were held in Tbilisi (March 10), Akhalkalaki (March 12) and Zugdidi (March 14), with the week due to close with an event in Batumi on March 15.
