The National Bank of Denmark has gained access to the Eurosystem Repo Facility for Central Banks, providing an additional backstop for euro liquidity and strengthening the liquidity management of its foreign exchange reserves. The central bank may borrow up to EUR 50 billion from the Eurosystem against high quality euro denominated securities. The standing facility follows the European Central Bank Governing Council’s February 2026 decision to broaden and enhance the framework for central banks outside the euro area, enabling them to address euro liquidity shortages more quickly.
