The Bank of the Lao PDR marked its 58th anniversary by reviewing its work during the first nine months of 2026 and presenting its plans for 2027. Governor Bounkham Vorachit delivered the review as part of an event attended by central bank officials, commercial banks and other financial institutions. A technical seminar addressed the future direction of banking sector policy, the sector’s role in the next phase of development and the transition to sustainable finance. Discussions also covered research on finance for poverty reduction and sustainable finance, with contributions from central bank departments and commercial banks.
