The Central Bank of Luxembourg published provisional statistics showing that the aggregate balance sheet total of Luxembourg credit institutions rose to EUR 984,310 million at 30 June 2025, up from EUR 967,805 million at 31 May 2025 (1.71%) and up 3.71% year on year. On the asset side, the monthly increase was mainly driven by higher claims on other banks and deposit-taking institutions, while on the liability side it was supported by higher debts to other sectors. The net interbank position increased by EUR 2,933 million (1.24%) to EUR 239,641 million at end-June. Loans to non-bank customers rose by EUR 1,756 million (1.54%) month on month and by EUR 2,845 million (2.52%) over 12 months, with annual changes including a EUR 3,701 million fall in credit to non-financial corporations (SNF) (-14.02%), a EUR 1,225 million increase in household mortgage lending (2.98%) and a EUR 6,017 million increase in lending to other financial intermediaries (AIF) (15.9%). Resident non-bank deposits increased by EUR 3,021 million (0.98%) from May to June and by EUR 19,823 million (6.81%) over 12 months, including a EUR 14,354 million rise in AIF deposits (7.29%), with AIF accounting for 67.9% of deposits at 30 June 2025.
