The Taiwan Financial Services Commission published payment market data showing 4.604 billion noncash transactions worth NT$5.15 trillion in the first half of 2026. Credit card retail sales reached NT$788.7 billion in June, up from NT$420.2 billion in May, while outstanding installment balances rose to NT$266 billion from NT$162 billion. At the end of June, 32 credit card issuers had 59.81 million effective cards, including 40.11 million active cards. Revolving credit increased to NT$117.3 billion, while the delinquency ratio for receivables more than three months past due fell to 0.16% from 0.23%. Electronic payment account users increased to 41.13 million, with account balances of NT$19.72 billion, while effective stored-value cards rose to 203.69 million.
