The Central Bank of the Philippines (BSP) recognised four institutional partners of its Mindanao Regional Office during the 2024 Outstanding BSP Stakeholders Appreciation Ceremony held in General Santos City, highlighting their support for the BSP’s mandates and its advocacies such as financial inclusion, digitalisation, proper handling of banknotes and coins, and cyber hygiene for digital financial transactions. The awardees were St. Michael's College of Iligan for hosting public information campaigns and supporting coin recirculation and community outreach; Land Bank of the Philippines’ Southern Mindanao Branches Group for implementing the Currency Service Alliance for direct exchange of fit currency between banks and contributing to financial inclusion initiatives; Surigao del Sur Public Library and Research Center for delivering BSP advocacy and financial literacy programmes in the Caraga Region; and the City Bankers' Association of General Santos for organising financial literacy sessions, a month-long Piso Caravan, and training for cash handlers. The BSP noted that similar ceremonies were held in 2024 for Head Office, Visayas, South Luzon, and North Luzon partners, and that the OBSAC has served as a recognition platform since 2004.
