The Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan reported on an event marking the 35th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Banks Association (ABA) and the 25th anniversary of its subsidiary, the Azerbaijan Bank and Finance Training Center, where Central Bank chair Taleh Kazimov highlighted recent banking sector development, increased resilience to potential threats, and expanded access to finance. Kazimov pointed to ABA’s role in advancing financial inclusion initiatives and said cooperation between the Central Bank and ABA has supported sector modernisation and wider promotion of innovation. The event also featured opening remarks from the Assistant to the President Natig Amirov, the chairman of the Banks Association of Turkey Alpaslan Cakar, and ABA president Zakir Nuriyev, and noted the Training Center’s contribution to professional development across the financial sector, with attendance from public officials, financial sector leaders, and representatives of foreign associations and organisations partnering with ABA.
