Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK), together with the Ministry of Creative Economy/Creative Economy Agency, has launched Infinity Hackathon OJK-Ekraf 2025, a programme aimed at accelerating the creative economy through digital innovation and decentralisation. The initiative is positioned as a forum to develop practical blockchain and Web3 solutions for Indonesia’s creative sector, including financing and intellectual property challenges. The hackathon highlights technical and regulatory hurdles to blockchain adoption such as data integrity, copyright protection and legal compliance, and calls for solutions that improve transparency, security and digital auditability across the creative value chain. Five sub-themes are set out: digital rights and authentication, transparent creative supply chains, DeFi for the creative economy, NFT-based monetisation models and Game-Fi concepts integrating DeFi and NFTs; the Ministry also linked the programme to priorities such as transparent and accountable royalty management and the development of intellectual property-based financing. OJK framed the broader collaboration around four flagship workstreams spanning funding schemes, competitions, industry digitalisation projects and communication channels.
