Tajikistan’s Ministry of Finance released details of a meeting with the World Bank’s Vice President for Europe and Central Asia, Antonella Bassani, held on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington to review priorities for future cooperation. Discussions focused on strengthening energy security, mobilising private investment, creating new jobs, developing the private sector, advancing economic digitalisation, improving the investment climate and expanding sustainable finance. The Tajik delegation, led by First Deputy Prime Minister Hokim Hikmatullo Holiqzoda and including Minister of Finance and World Bank Governor Fayziddin Sattor Qahhorzoda and National Bank of Tajikistan Chairman Firdavs Tolibzoda, also underscored continued reform support through budget-support programmes and signalled readiness to deepen engagement across the World Bank, IFC and MIGA.
