The Bank of the Lao PDR met a World Bank Group delegation led by Allen Forlemu, Regional Industry Director for the Financial Institutions Group in Asia-Pacific, to discuss assistance for developing Lao PDR’s financial sector. The talks focused particularly on support for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, continuing the institutions’ engagement on improving access to finance for smaller businesses. Deputy Governor Vatthana Dalaloy acknowledged the World Bank Group’s previous technical assistance and financial support to the central bank. The meeting also addressed continued cooperation between Lao PDR and the World Bank Group on financial sector development.
