Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) will hold a judgment session at 15:00 on 15 April to rule on three administrative sanctioning proceedings, including cases involving independent auditors and a case alleging a fraudulent operation. The agenda includes proceedings against Inforcont Auditores Independentes for alleged non-compliance with the Continuing Professional Education Program, and against Crowe Macro Auditores Independentes Sociedade Simples and Fabio Debiaze Pino for alleged non-observance of accounting standards in the audit of financial statements, particularly regarding the adequacy, existence and pricing of investment fund assets. CVM will also consider a case involving Angélica Dib Ribeiro Thibes and Fábio Junior Thibes concerning an alleged fraudulent operation and a possible breach of the duty of loyalty. The session will be open to the public and available in person at CVM’s headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and via videoconference; if no accused person or their counsel indicates an intention to participate, the decision will be taken in a restricted session through electronic voting. CVM noted that the published case reports may be updated after the judgment session.
