The Qatar Financial Centre hosted the third annual Qatar Financial Market Forum in Doha, themed “Public Growth and Private Capital”, in collaboration with Bloomberg Intelligence, convening private companies, government entities and financial institutions to discuss developments in regional public and private markets, alternative assets and sustainable investment. Sessions focused on capital flows and trading infrastructure in Middle East capital markets, the growth of private markets including private credit, venture capital and private equity, and the developing carbon and climate investment segment. Bloomberg Intelligence cited analysis indicating that foreign investors’ purchases of listed equities in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar averaged USD 750 million in daily value traded in 2024, up 57% from 2023, equivalent to around 30% of the three markets’ combined USD 2.5 billion average daily value traded, and outlined findings from its new Middle East market-structure coverage spanning exchange ecosystems, trading and technology capabilities, initial public offering activity and regulation.
