Angola's Ministry of Finance reported that a delegation led by Minister Vera Daves de Sousa took part in a coordination event for the Lobito Corridor, following the inaugural meeting held in Luanda in February. The minister urged a shift from isolated projects to an integrated approach to operationalise the corridor, with stronger private-sector participation and structured coordination mechanisms based on data and continuous monitoring. She also highlighted the need for technical tools and for defining a trade facilitation roadmap focused on reducing logistics costs, accelerating trade flows and improving the corridor’s competitiveness. Separately, on 16 April the governors and presidents of central banks from Portuguese-speaking countries formalised the creation of the BCPLP Network to strengthen cooperation, with the National Bank of Angola represented by Governor Manuel Dias alongside peers from Brazil, Cabo Verde, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe, Timor-Leste and the Central Bank of West African States represented by its national director for Guinea-Bissau.
