Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) used its OJK Mengajar public lecture at Garut University to reinforce the importance of governance and integrity in the financial services sector, positioning them as foundations for a healthy, transparent and ethical industry and encouraging students to help prevent unethical professional practices. The lecture, delivered by OJK Audit Board Chair Sophia Wattimena, highlighted fraud and corruption risks, including financial statement fraud such as window dressing, which she said can generate major losses and damage public trust. Wattimena also introduced the Three Lines Model for sector governance, describing complementary roles for industry, professional bodies and regulators, and stressed that governance strengthening cannot be driven by OJK alone. University leadership echoed the link between public trust and strong, transparent and accountable governance, while urging students to build personal integrity and a risk mindset early; OJK framed the programme as part of strengthening governance and integrity literacy in academia to support the development of ethical talent for the financial services industry.
