Discussions covered demographic divides, trade tensions, technological change including artificial intelligence, and climate and geopolitical challenges, alongside private-sector resilience, the need for structural reforms, public debt sustainability and strategies for inclusive and sustainable growth. On the margins, Roth held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Oman and New Zealand and with Nigeria’s Minister of State for Finance, and met African Development Bank President Sidi Ould Tah to review cooperation, including potential work on digital innovation. He also attended a small-format dinner convened by IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva with finance ministers from leading euro area members to discuss current economic and financial developments. The ministry added that the second leg of the trip is a financial mission to Canada with Luxembourg for Finance from 18–22 October 2025.
