The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) held a sector dialogue in Rio de Janeiro on “Challenges and Innovation in Insurance and Pension Education”, bringing together SUSEP leadership, a representative from the Ministry of Social Security and industry participants to discuss initiatives and good practices for improving insurance and pension literacy in Brazil. The event was structured around three debates and positioned education as a key enabler of sector development and household planning. Superintendent Alessandro Octaviani framed the discussion around building diagnostics to support medium- to long-term institutional coordination aimed at shifting Brazil’s culture and economic structure, argued that market opportunities depend on investment in financial and insurance education, and called for broader public dialogue so that insurance and pension planning is better understood, potentially reducing the attraction of alternatives such as betting.
