On the liability side, liabilities to euro area credit institutions related to monetary policy operations decreased EUR 34,172 million to EUR 2,782,269 million, reflecting declines in current accounts of EUR 26,890 million to EUR 184,238 million and in the deposit facility of EUR 7,282 million to EUR 2,598,031 million; banknotes in circulation fell EUR 1,258 million to EUR 1,589,073 million.
